Introduction

The laboratory experiments for the EEE455/591 are all computers based and can be done from any computer that is connected to the Internet and has Internal Explorer or Netscape version 4.0 or better with Java execution capabilities. To assist you in accomplishing the lab exercises, you will be provided with different Java programs that you are required to use.

Format of Lab Reports

The lab reports for the EEE455/591 will consist of 4 parts. The first part is an introduction part in which you show both the object of your report and the concepts about the lab topic. The second part is about the experimental results that you will get by running J-DSP with problems given in the lab. The Third part of the report will request an quiz which requires you to answer a series of multiple choice questions, short answer questions and provide your comments about the work you have done in the lab. You need to conclude and discuss your experiment in the last part of the report.

How to Save Your Work as a gif File

When you create a graph using one of the provided programs, you may save it as a gif file by first clicking on the window that contains the graph to select it. Press and hold down the alt key and then press the print screen key. This will copy the window to the clipboard. Next, paste the image into any image editor which will allow you to save the image in gif format. To determine if an image editor has the capability of saving files in gif format, select "Save As" from its "File" menu, then choose "Save As Type" and look to see if gif format is one of the options. Programs such as Paint in Microsoft Windows can't save images as gif files, even though you type in a name for your file that includes the .gif extension. If you need a simple image editor with this capability, you may consider using ImagoWeb1.0. This is a free, 700 kilobyte program and can be obtained from www.download.com.
